Halloween season is here, so let’s get into the spirit of things by checking out some fun and frightening events!

There’s still time to enjoy some great seasonal events around Vancouver, and we’re here to help with a roundup of scary things to do before the end of the month.

From trick-or-treating celebrations to howl-arious comedy shows, here are 10 Halloween events in Vancouver to check out before the end of spooky season.

Wickedly Wonderful Trick-or-Treating at Capilano Mall

What: Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Capilano Mall for Wickedly Wonderful Trick-or-Treating on Friday, Oct. 31.

From 3 to 5 p.m. on Halloween, the Grand Court comes alive with a live DJ, photo opportunities with Elphaba, Glinda, and Fiyero for magical photos, and trick-or-treating at stores marked with a spooky decal while supplies last.

There is also a Wicked-inspired photo backdrop where you’ll have the chance to win a $250 Capilano Mall gift card! There are so many reasons you need to visit this Halloween spot.

Witches Harvest: A Samhain Artisan Market

What: Nightshade Market and Ravens Veil team up for a Halloween celebration at the Croatian Cultural Centre. Explore the Harvest Market and discover artisans and makers from around B.C. Costumes are welcome at the witch-run, all-ages event.

When: Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025

Fright Nights at Playland

What: Fright Nights, one of Western Canada’s scariest haunts, has returned to Vancouver for the spooky season. And we can’t wait to visit the scream park!

The popular Playland attraction is celebrating its 22nd anniversary on select nights running through to Halloween night.

Visitors can enjoy the immersive Halloween-themed experience with seven haunted houses, over 15 heart-pounding rides, spooky decor, roaming monsters, thrilling live performances, and more.

VIFF – Frankenstein by Guillermo del Toro

What: Get ready, scream fans, because Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) is gearing up for Halloween with a huge celebration of one of horror’s greatest icons.

The spooky celebration at the VIFF Centre – Vancity Theatre is all about Frankenstein. It includes iconic films from the 1930s, as well as the highly anticipated movie by three-time Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro.

Spooky Postcard Show 2

What: One More Life hosts the second edition of the Spooky Postcard Show, showcasing 50 artists and their postcard-sized eerie artworks from Oct. 24 to Nov. 15.

Opening weekend includes an opening reception with a snack and beverage bar on Friday, with costumes welcome. There will also be an artist market on Saturday with a free postcard workshop for children.

Visit the gallery at 2111 Main St. to also check out Tiny Haunts, small but spooky original artworks, all priced at $25.

I Know What You Did Last Weekend at The Improv Centre

What: I Know What You Did Last Weekend is a blend of ’90s teen slasher films with the spontaneity of live improv comedy. The show begins with a murder based on suggestions from the audience and then dives into a world of secrets, betrayals and laughs.

When: Every Friday and Saturday until Nov. 1, 2025. Additional shows on Thursday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Dead Fellows Haunted Brewhouse

What: For Halloween, East Vancouver’s Strange Fellows Brewing is transforming into a haunted brewhouse and brave souls are invited to take a self-guided tour through a “full-blown, walk-through Haunted House experience” filled with surprises, special effects, and frights.

When: Oct. 23 to 25 and Oct. 30 to 31, 2025

Cirque Costume Ball

Science World

What: Vancouver’s longest-running licensed Halloween bash takes over Science World on Friday, Oct. 31. Over 1,200 ghoulish party-goers will enjoy live cirque performances, spooky decor, and the city’s top DJs and performers.

Prepare for a full night of frights with three music rooms across two floors featuring 10 of the city’s top DJs and live performers. Cirque performance artists, including silk aerialists, contortionists, LED dancers, stilt walkers, jugglers, and more, will leave your jaw on the floor.

The Dagerpaatch

What: Return to the Dagerpaatch this Halloween at Dageraad Brewing and support a great cause. Guests are invited to pick out a pumpkin by donation, enjoy seasonal drinks and treats, chow down on delicious food from local food trucks, and more.

The brewery has partnered with the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS) for the event, which is in support of their work connecting service dogs to people with disabilities. Part of Burnaby Halloween Festival 2023.

Talladega Nights: A Hero’s Halloween

What: Halloween’s on a Friday this year, and you and your crew are invited to Hero’s Welcome for a special Talladega Nights party.

Get ready for a no-cover night of NASCAR, beer, pizza, and chaos. Costumes are optional but appreciated. There will be Miller High Life mixed with Aperol (aka Speghett or NASCAR Spritz) served, and DJ Darth Brooks will be playing live from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

And bring the little ones by early for trick-or-treating from 3 to 6 p.m.
